Reading: The ending and the ask
The ending
If the video ends with the problem solved, the people watching have nothing left to do. Keep the story open, so that what they do next becomes a continuation of it. End on what is still not fixed, like the road that is still broken or the next hundred food packs still needed. Show what has already changed, too, so people come away with hope as well as something to do. One of the best videos we saw in August did exactly that.
The ask
At this point, tell people clearly what they can do next. Split the ask in two.
First, what can people do next about your issue? Be specific about when and where, so they know exactly how to get involved. For example:
- Come to the next meetup, on this day, at this place.
- Come and pack the next hundred food packs on Saturday.
Then, include an ask for everyone inspired by the story. Always include joining or starting a Circle:
- join or start a Circle at logos.co/circles
- share this video with a Circle that has the same problem
The post
When the cut is final, post it wherever people already follow you, on your own account or your Circle's. Tag @Logos_network on X so Logos sees it and can send you notes on it and help promote it.
Some ideas for the text of the post:
- you could use the paragraph you wrote after filming
- add details that the video couldn't include, such as where the problem came from or some statistics showing the gravity of the problem, underneath or in a thread
- quote the people in the video in their own words instead of summarising them
- end with the same ask as the video and where to find your Circle
